| Singapore’s
economy ranks amongst the world’s most competitive countries.
The liberalization of its telecommunications, financial and energy
industries, coupled with meticulous long-term industrial planning,
world-class infrastructure and various government incentives continue
to attract foreign investors to the Republic.
The government
takes a pro-business approach and is supportive of the needs of
the local business community. Its charter is to transform Singapore
to a “high value-add, knowledge-based economy.” To that
effect, the push to nurture homegrown technology entrepreneurs has
gained momentum in recent years. In addition, industries such as
biotech and high-tech services are primed to be the next wave for
the Singapore economy.
Work hard.
Work smart. In a nutshell, that sums up the ethos of Singapore’s
highly educated population. People in the workforce constantly strive
to upgrade their skills to meet the changing requirements of the
evolving global economy.
