Companies Choose Hong Kong As Headquarters With China Entering WTO

Hoffman Agency, the IT-focused PR agency decided to move its Asia Pacific headquarters to Hong Kong. Lou Hoffman, the President of The Hoffman Agency said that the company chose Singapore as the AP headquarters to expand business into the region during 1995-96. Four years later, he decided to move its headquarters to Hong Kong since Hong Kong has the human resources and good business environment.

Lou stated that Singapore has the good infrastructure while Hong Kong has a better chance to get funding from Venture Capital. Also with China enters the WTO, Hong Kong will act as the gateway for the overseas enterprise to tap into the China market. When being asked about if more firms would move their headquarters to Hong Kong, Lou did not comment on it as he is not familiar with the Hong Kong economy.
