A Natural Born Master
Of PR
- Hoffmans
client list includes more than 40 IT companies
- Hoffman ranked No. 4 among PR agencies in the Silicon Valley
Although many countries
are racing to construct high-tech industrial complexes, Silicon
Valley is outplaying the competition in terms of a number of consulting
and service companies that support venture startups. One of these
companies is The Hoffman Agency, founded by Lou Hoffman, which has
provided PR services to U.S. IT companies since 1987.
Hoffman has assumed the
role of bridging between IT companies and customers and media for
better understanding of difficult technologies. The fact that the
company was commissioned to do PR activities by more than 40 IT
companies - including HP, 3Com and Quantum - reflects American high-tech
business communitys high expectations and trust in The Hoffman
Agency.
The Hoffman Agency was
ranked No.4 among PR agencies located in Silicon Valley, by reporting
US $7.8 million in revenue last year.
To provide more local
services for its clients targeting the worldwide market, the company
opened its office in Singapore in 1996, followed by locations in
Tokyo (1997), Beijing (1998), Hong Kong (1999), London (2000) and
Seoul (2000).
It is purely coincidental
that Hoffman entered the world of PR. When he worked with a regional
paper in Arizona as a journalist, he suddenly found that he had
nothing to lose if he read the vision of IT, so he immediately established
The Hoffman Agency.
He must be a natural
born master of PR who already knew the nature of venture startups
- that is, starting a business entirely on a single technology.
