Prism Awards Reward PR Professionals

The Institute of Public Relations of Singapore held their seventh PRISM Awards to honour excellence in their field. The Fullerton Hotel Ballroom was filled with representatives from both independent PR companies and in-house PR departments. Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister of State, Ministry of Community Development and Sports was the guest of honour. The following received recognition for their efforts in the field:

Best Community Service Excellent Awards went to BP Singapore, City Developments Limited in the projects above S$50,000 category, while MediaCorp Radio's Oli 96.8 FM picked up a Commendation for projects S$50,000 and below category.

Best Crisis Management Project Merit Award was given to Edelman Public Relations Worldwide.

Best Events Management Excellent Award went to Far East Organisation with Edelman picking up the Merit Award and Singapore General Hospital getting a Commendation.

Best Investor/Financial Relations Excellence Award went to Weber Shandwick Worldwide. Citigate Dewe Rogerson, i. IMAGE picked up an Excellence Award and a Merit Award in this category.

Best Newsletter Excellence Awards went to Urban Redevelopment Authority with Army News and Singapore Police Force picking up Merit Awards. Singapore Civil Defence Force picked up a Commendation.

Best Technology Public Relations Award saw Asia PR. Comz getting an Excellence Award while The Hoffman Agency got a Merit Award.

Best Use of Interactive Public Relations resulted in a Merit Award for Standfirst Communications.

Best Public Campaign Awards saw an Excellence Award for PR Communications and a Merit for Edelman in the projects above S$100,000 category. For projects S$100,000 and below, Weber Shandwick got an Excellence Award. For projects S$50,000 and below, there was an Excellence Award for Singapore Civil Defence Force.

Best Public Relations Work for the Environment got a Merit Award for City Developments Limited.

In the Best PR Project Award (Students Chapter), Ngee Ann Polytechnic received an Excellence Award while Singapore Polytechnic got a Merit Award.
