The Hoffman Agency
Named "Asian Network of the Year"
The Hoffman Agency, which
specializes in IT public relations launched its first office in
Asia in 1996. This was in Singapore and it has only recently expanded
into the region. However, it has managed to clinch the title "Asian
Network of the Year 2001" given by PR Week. The award recognizes
teamwork and clients services. One point of difference, which may
have helped sway the judges, is the fact that Hoffman operates its
network as one unit rather than running several offices in various
countries.
The Hoffman Agency has
really enjoyed impressive growth despite the downturn in the IT
industries. In Asia, they picked up 38 new clients last year, nearly
all of which originated in Asia. They have been adding on staff
and recently opened a new office in Korea. Plans are in the pipeline
to add Taiwan and Shanghai.
Michelle Herman, Hoffman's
Managing Director for Asia Pacific said, "We have defined a new
regional client service approach that we call 'hire locally, deliver
regionally'. Roughly 95%of our staff comes from the local areas
they serve, which really deepens our expertise in the individual
country markets."
Ms Veronica Ng, Managing
Director of Hoffman Singapore added, "We have two purposes. Have
fun and do great work. We relish not being a typical PR firm in
Asia."
